Faculty Positions

Assistant Professor in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue University (www.physics.purdue.edu) seeks applications for a faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of experimental condensed matter physics. We envision a junior hire to complement existing strengths in the condensed matter group. Areas of current research interest in the Department include non-Abelian fractional quantum Hall physics, nanoscale phenomena, novel topological phases of matter, quantum computing and information processing, and exotic superconductivity. The experimental condensed matter group also makes frequent use of the state-of-the-art facilities available in Purdue’s Birck Nanotechnology Center (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/birck). Individuals pursuing novel experimental techniques to probe condensed matter systems are particularly encouraged to apply.

Assistant Professor in Experimental Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue University (www.physics.purdue.edu) seeks applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of experimental atomic, molecular, and optical physics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field, an outstanding record of research accomplishments, and evidence of potential excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Spintronics and Nanomagnetics

The College of Engineering at Purdue University have identified spintronics and nanomagnetics as one of the strategic growth areas that emphasize team based research with a focus on the potential for impact.

Post-Doctoral Positions

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Astroparticle Physics

The Dark Matter group at Purdue University invites applications for a post-doc position. The group is working on the XENON1T, XENONnT and LBECA Dark Matter experiments.

Time Domain Astrophysics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue University invites applications for a postdoctoral position to collaborate with Prof. Dan Milisavljevic on research topics connected with Time Domain Astrophysics.

Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Biophysics

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Theoretical Biophysics at Purdue University in the group of Professor Andrew Mugler. The Mugler Group investigates the physics of cell sensing and cell-cell communication. Current topics include collective sensing, collective migration, and non-equilibrium statistical physics. For more information see http://www.physics.purdue.edu/mugler.
